Vehicles seized in Cambridge

Since the start of 2009, police in Cambridge have seized nearly 1,000 vehicles that are unfit to use, either because they are uninsured or the driver does not hold a valid driving licence.

Drivers are willing to risk large penalties as they cannot afford to pay for the correct vehicle insurance in the current economic climate; vehicle owners may be forced to give up their cars if they are unable to prove the relevant insurance/licence documents and could also face large fines.

Over 120 drivers have had their vehicles seized in the last month and have been forced to pay hefty fines to release their cars. Typically drivers can expect to pay up to £200 in fines and a £160 recovery fee.

By not having the relevant insurance for your vehicle you are dicing with the law and risk being faced with the consequences. You can purchase commercial vehicle insurance online from Insure My Vehicle, providing comprehensive vehicle insurance.
