Vehicle owners urged to not leave goods on display

Police in the South Tyneside area are urging drivers to be more vigilant when leaving their vehicles by not leaving any items on display following a string of break-ins on vehicles in the area.

Car parks are being patrolled by Offices, along with Community Wardens and Parking attendants who will keep an eye of vehicles, any that have been spotted with goods on show will be sent a letter to the cars registered address asking that the owners are more careful, to hopefully cut out and future incidents.

Any items left in your vehicle can be tempting to a criminal, including laptops, mobile phones, bags and CD’s. Not only with you be left with items stolen, but also the car may be left damage, leaving you with an inconvenience of maybe not having a vehicle for a period of time.
