Updated handbook for Van drivers

The latest edition of the Freight Transport Associations (FTA) van driver’s handbook has been published.

The 78 page handbook is intended to give van and light commercial drivers an easy to use reference guide to keep themselves and their vehicles road legal and promote efficient usage.

The book also has chapters relating to green driving, legal requirements, safe driving, speed limits, driving in towns and on motorways, parking and loading, offences and theft prevention to name a few.

It is seen as an essential guide for any driver using a van for an extended period. There is also a pull out section that gives the driver a guide to a daily walk around vehicle check.

The FTA designed the handbook as vans had now become an essential element to a majority of businesses in the UK despite the majority of drivers not being full time drivers.
