UK car insurance claims top up in Swansea

A survey carried out on car insurance claims has found that Swansea, ironically the home of the DVLA, has the highest number of car accident and stolen vehicle insurance claims.

The SA4 postcode, which includes Gowerton, Llanmorlais and Pentrebach to name a few, has the most insurance claims per person within its population than any other area in the UK.

A spokesman for Virgin Money commented that although Swansea does have a high number or vehicle insurance claims, it does not mean that it is a dangerous city or it is the car crime capital of the UK.

A survey that was carried out in June 2008 on car friendly towns, did infact rate Swansea as the 24th out of the 50 biggest towns and cities and Birmingham came out as the largest major region for car insurance claims.
