Toyota employees face 10 pay cut

A rescue package came too late for Toyota employees. They were forced to take two unpaid days leave a month and a pay cut of 10.

The news came after it axed 200 temporary jobs and offered voluntary redundancies packages and ditched annual pay rises and bonuses with more job looses expected next month.

Lord Mandelson vowed to help failing car companies and met bosses to decide how to spend the £2.3 billion rescue plan to help restore stability.
