The Stig is unveiled
Top Gear’s “the Stig” has been unveiled as Bristol based Ben Collins after a Bristol Newspaper commented on a man commissioning a photo studio to produce limited edition prints of the character. The Stig’s identity, known to viewers as part man, part machine, has been kept a mystery for many years to try and uphold the spirit of the show. The previous Stig’s identity was revealed after Perry McCarthy revealed his identity in his autobiography; the show ended this Stig by firing him off of the back of a warship. Ben Collins, who shouldn’t be receiving the same fate as the previous Stig, is a former American speedway driver and also acted as a stunt double for Daniel Craig in the latest James Bond film.
