Taunton motor show 2009 will be the host to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance this Sunday from 10am – 4pm.
The charity, which is called out on average three times a day, helps motorists and others get to hospital within minutes, saving many lives.
30 of the call outs for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance are road traffic accidents, however other incidents include farming accidents and people getting in to difficulty during sporting activities. The air ambulance is also used for home and work accident where a road ambulance cannot attend in life threatening incidents.
The air ambulance has carried out 3,600 missions in the nine years that it has been running. It is on call 365 days a year, flying at 150mph to get to anywhere in the Dorset and Somerset Area within 19 minutes.
The show, which is hosted by the Country Gazette and Taunton School has free entry, however the air ambulance will be collecting donations.
