SatNav warns of dangerous roads

Satellite navigation systems will now be able to inform drivers of the most dangerous roads when they stray on to them, to make them more aware of the dangers they may be coming across.

The idea that has been put forward is that when you are entering the dangerous area, the sat-nav will warn you by saying, “You are entering a high risk area. Please be careful”.

A non-profit road safety group, EuroRAP has now allowed the various satellite navigation companies to use the risk map, which they have produced by studying our roads.

The satellite navigation systems will be tested this year, with them hopefully being released next summer.
