A trip to West Midlands Safari Park ended abruptly on Monday 13 July, as two school coaches carrying secondary school pupils from Rednock School, Dursley collided with a car on the A449 near Worcester.
The day trip planned towards the end of term as an exciting event after the recent stress of school exams never came to fruition as two adults and 14 children ended up spending their ‘eventful day’ in Accident and Emergency of Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Pupils were lucky to escape with minor injuries suffering from whiplash and nausea and naturally shock. A spokesman for the service described them as ‘walking wounded’ as they were extradited from the road and given shelter at a nearby campsite for treatment.
