Post Office jobs could be saved

Struggling Post Offices might not face closure after they received some good news. Post office branches will be assisting a multi-million pound deal to deliver driving licenses on their rounds.

The aim of the deal is to make renewing and changing existing licenses a lot more user friendly and faster for members of the public. At the moment the public will send of their documents confirming their identity and passport type photograph to the DVLA and waiting for it too be returned.

They aim to introduce a fast track system from next year where the post office will take out a lot of the work by taking the photographs and ensuring they are the correct ones and scanning in the application forms and ensuring all the forms are signed in the correct places. This will cut down waiting time for the licenses and ensure drivers are legal and help keep jobs.
