Petrol prices in the UK

Petrol prices across the UK have dropped slightly since the highs of a couple of weeks ago when the price of oil hit $147 per barrel now down to $126 per barrel.

This fall coupled with ASDA starting a price war at the pumps have seen unleaded and diesel prices as other supermarkets cut prices to maintain market share.

The UK average for unleaded is 116.1p, although there is a 19ppl difference in the price on the forecourts with the minimum at 109.9p and the maximum at 128.9p across the UK, so it’s worth shopping around for the cheapest supplier.

Diesel has a 25ppl difference between the minimum price of 120.9p and maximum price of 145.9p, with the average for the UK running at 129.7p.

(Prices correct on Thursday 31st July 2008).
