Pedestrian hit by driver

A vehicle driver has been put before Fermanagh Magistrates Court after he struck a pedestrian whilst reversing down a one way street.

The owner of the vehicle realised that he was entering a one way street so decided to reverse back, however in his panic he managed to hit a pedestrian, knocking them over leaving them in shock and disbelief as the driver carried on going. A witness had seen the accident happen and reported it to the police who later discovered the vehicle.

The defendant was found sometime later and admitted to reversing down the one way street however they were totally oblivious to hitting the pedestrian.

A fine of £300 was charged to the gentleman for driving without due care and attention. He was also given three penalty points on his licence.
