Hard hitting road safety campaigns have been proven to be a success as surveys show that 39 less people have been killed or seriously injured on Northamptonshire’s Roads this year compared to the same period last year.
The reduction in the numbers of fatal or serious accidents on the county’s roads has been reduced by almost a quarter from 183 in 2008 to 144 in 2009, a great decrease following the measures that have been carried out to identify accident hotspots.
Any number of road accidents leading to fatalities or serious injury is not good; however knowing that the numbers are being reduced is great news to Northamptonshire’s Casualty Reduction Team.
A Car Kraft event for young drivers is being held this weekend at Rockingham circuit to show the most at risk drivers (17-24 year olds) how crucial road safety is.
