New figures released by the Commission for Integrated Transport have revealed that the use of commercial vehicles has seen an increase over the past ten years. The figures show an increase of around 40% compared to those of 1999, these statistics do not come as a surprise to most as there has been a dramatic increase of vehicles in general on the roads over the years.
The increase of commercial vehicle use can be partially due to the effect the recession has had on the building and construction industry. The number of people made redundant have mainly come from people working in these industries, forcing most to seek benefits but others have thought out a different path by investing in their own business and becoming self employed.
This method has proven to be successful for some but others have found it difficult to get a foothold in the self-employed area. A man with a van can lead to many possibilities and this has been the thinking of many tradesmen recently, increasing the number of commercial vehicles on the road.
