The commercial vehicle manufacturer Ford is the latest company to release an eco-friendly van with their new ECOnetic Transit van. The van has been designed around providing customers with the same amount of storage room, comfort and speed they received from previous models. The only difference with this van is that it has been made eco-friendly, as it now boasts a 40mpg fuel consumption and its CO2 emissions are just 189g/km.
The storage remains the same as that of previous models with a 1,172kg payload and 6.5 cubic meters of load volume. Although the speed of the van is limited to just 70mph, which is the national speed limit, may put off some potential customers. This is but one obstacle in the way of a fantastic new vehicle, the van now has a six-speed gearbox, which will create a more comfortable ride.
Perhaps another debatable feature of this van is the green flashing arrow that indicates the most eco-friendly point when a driver should change gear.
The van is now on a test trial in the UK and starting prices for the van start at an affordable £18,095.
