The vehicle manufacturer Ford has announced plans to increase prices on a range of its vehicles across the UK. The plans have come as a last resort to the well-known American company, as a result of the weakness of the pound against the euro.
The average rise in price of its range will equate to around 2.7% and will affect such models as the Ka, Focus, Fiesta and the widely credited Transit vans. This increase will come as a huge blow to tradesmen as during the recession many have looked to purchase a van of their own after either redundancy or in an effort to make more money.
Although Ford reported a 10% increase on its year on year sales in October they have reported that due to the current condition of the pound, they feel to maintain a viable business the increases are necessary.
