Ferrari theme park to open in October

The expansion of car brands into other areas of merchandising has accelerated over the past few years but even long standing car insurance customers will be surprised to hear that the world's fastest roller coaster will be a Ferrari.

The Formula Rossa, where people will be strapped into a replica F1 cockpit and ride at nearly 150mph, will be the highlight of the Ferrari World, a whole theme park dedicated to the Italian high-performance marque. It opens in Abu Dhabi on 28th October 2010.

Much of the theme park, claimed to be the largest of its kind (although it's not clear exactly what "its kind" is) will be covered with a sleek red roof. This covers two hundred thousand metres and sports the largest Ferrari logo ever created. There should be no problem spotting the park from the Abu Dhabi International Airport only ten kilometres away.

For many car insurance customers a trip to the new theme park may be the closest they ever get to driving a Ferrari. And they won't have to shop for a cheap car insurance quote beforehand either.
