Expansion of Low Emission Zone rules on hold

Plans to include Light Commercial Vehicles within the expansion of London’s low emission zone has been suspended by The London Mayor Boris Johnson until further notice.

The expansion of the low emission zone will introduce fines for Light Commercial Vehicles less than 3.5 tonnes, with charges of £100 per day and for drivers not obeying the rules they will receive a fine of £500 for entering the zone.

Estimation for the 90,000 Light Commercial Vehicles entering the zone mounts up to approximately £2,000 per vehicle.
