Commercial vehicle companies are slowly ensuring that they have a range of eco-friendly vans on the road in an effort to both boost sales and reduce their carbon footprint. Ford has been the latest company to release an eco-van with its 40mpg range and 189g/km CO2 emissions. It is this release that helped towards Fords award for the innovation in car and van manufacture, another factor was their staggering figures of 137,000 fleet sales between January and August this year.
It's not just Ford who have released an eco-van, as earlier this month Nissan released their very own low emission van, as well as Peugeot and Renault.
The recession has caused both chaos and good fortune to both the commercial vehicle manufacturer and owner. The reason behind their fluctuation in luck, is redundancies, as the number of tradesman lost their jobs in the construction industry grew so did the number of commercial vehicle sales. This was because of the British pride would not allow the tradesman to sit at home and wait, instead they would look to find their own work. So by investing a small amount of money they became a man with a van, and as we all know they can do anything.
