Driver sentanced for no vehicle insurance

A young worker from a car garage in the Bristol area has been sentenced after taking a car from work, without consent and driving with no vehicle insurance.

The 21 year old, Bed Davies, had decided that he would borrow a brand new range rover for the showroom where he worked and take him and his friends for a spin, however under the influence of alcohol, he ended up crashing into a house at 2am in the morning, causing major damage to both the car and house.

A two year driving ban, as well as a suspended sentence were issued to the young driver after being found guilty of aggravated vehicle taking, driving without vehicle insurance, drink driving, failing to stop for an accident and also possessing an offensive weapon.

It was found that a member of the family, who own the car garage in Felton, Bristol was one of Ben Davies friends and had told him to borrow the vehicle, which initially caused issues during the prosecution. However his failure to have no vehicle insurance as well as being under the influence of alcohol meant the Judge was not hesitant on issuing out sentences and fines.
