Dark winter days require use of headlights
The Police and the Department of Transport are urging Motorists to ensure that their headlights are working properly and that they are using them during the dark winter days as they becoming gloomier and darkness begins to fall earlier.
Road tests are being carried out by the DoT and the Police, stopping motorists who have faulty headlights, or who are generally not using them. In one area, 80 vehicles were stopped, three were issued with prohibitions, were the vehicles were not allowed to be used again until the defects had been fixed and then rechecked.
By making a quick check of your vehicle before you head out, this can be the difference between being pulled over by the police and savings someone’s life.
