Bus lanes and Bikes

Transport for London (TfL) is yet to publish its 36-month study into allowing motorcycles to use bus lanes in and out of the city. Even though it was scheduled to be published last October. The report recommends that motorcycles should be permitted to use bus due to the safety benefits.

It would appear that the report has been suppressed for political reasons, as there may be some discord from other road users. According to the British Motorcyclists federation (BMF) the report shows that accidents are reduced by 42 percent, but that the Mayors office is more worried about lost voters if motorcycles are allowed to share the bus lanes with cyclists.
