Mark Tissiman the millionaire businessman is currently at court in charge with the death of a teenage girl after the boat he was towing collided with the oncoming vehicle. Mr Tissiman denies the charges of death by dangerous driving but the prosecutor claims that the vessel was not properly secured. Sarah James the 19-year-old student from Bridgnorth was in the passenger seat of a friend's car when the mast of the boat smashed through the windscreen causing deadly injuries to Sarah's neck and head.
Mr Tissiman was not aware of the accident until 100 yards down the road when he looked in his mirror. An air ambulance took Miss James to a local hospital where she later died from the injuries sustained.
The jury heard how the alleged experienced sailor had failed to tie down the trailer and the mechanism to keep the dinghy in place was also slack. This caused the mast to swing loose of its mooring and collide with the oncoming vehicle snapping on contact and like a spear piercing the windscreen.
The case has been open since June last year and is ongoing.
