Accident could be cut by the safe use of work vehicles
May will bring a conference held by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents where the focus will be on the two major causes of work-related accidents.
Each year hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries are through the involvement of someone who is work at the time including those on work premises.
The conference held by RoSPA’s will address these issues hoping to reduce and provide advice on managing the risks associated with work vehicles in both areas.
“Road accidents and workplace transport accidents are the biggest causes of work-related death in the UK. Road accidents that involve someone who is at work at the time are estimated to claim the lives of between 800 and 1,000 people each year, and provisional figures for 2007/08 reveal that 65 workers were killed in workplace transport accidents, with thousands more injured.” This was a statement made by Roger Bibbings RoSPA’s occupational safety adviser.
