£5 Million motor fraud per week

Insurers have uncovered a record amount of fraud in motor claims. The amount of money that is being spent on fraudulent claims is amounting to £260 million which when broken down is £5 million a week.

Insurers have exposed 24,000 cases of motor fraud and as a result honest motor owners will be paying £40 more than they would have done in the past.

As an example one fraudster was caught out when she made a claim when her foot slipped off the break and crashed into the side of her house, however it was found out that the crash was a deliberate act after a fall out with the ladies partner.

Another was a man who claimed that his car was stolen; he had actually pushed it off a cliff!
