£30 Tea bags!

A painter and decorator that went to purchase some tea bags in his van was fined £30 on the spot for driving in his van and smoking. He was fined for being in his work van as it is classed as a work place.

Gordon Williams, 58, went out to buy some teabags when his local council stopped him for a routine check. He was issued with a on the spot £30 fine but thinks that this must have been the first of its kind since the smoking ban as the ticket was numbered 0001.

Mr Williams to going to appeal against this fine but his wife has paid the £30 for now. She was worried that the fine would double if it were left unpaid.

This was the most expensive box of tea that Mr Williams has ever bought!
