15 percent of British motorists driven without insurance
A recent survey has found that an astonishing 15 percent of British motorists have driven either their own or someone else’s vehicle without insurance.
The majority, 9 percent, had driven someone else’s vehicle without having the appropriate insurance coverage and 6 percent had actually driven their own vehicle without any insurance.
The survey reflected a clear gap between age and gender, with men twice as likely as women to drive without insurance and older people increasingly unlikely to drive without than younger people.
If a driver is caught without insurance they will face a £200 on the spot fine with 6 points on their license and even possibly having their vehicle confiscated.
